Punjab Launches First E-Registration Model Center for Seamless Land Transfers

In a groundbreaking move, on January 7th, 2024, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Syed Mohsin Naqvi, inaugurated Punjab's inaugural E-registration model center at the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Plaza on Kashmir Road. This marks a historic moment in the province's land transfer procedures. The newly established E-registration Model Center consolidates the sub-registrar offices from Ravi Town, Samanabad Town, and Data Ganj Baksh Town, streamlining the land transfer process in Punjab. Furthermore, two additional E-registration centers are set to be operational in Raiwind and Shalimar by January 31, 2024, as per the directive of the Caretaker CM.

During his visit, Mr. Naqvi inspected the registrar offices at Ravi Town, Samanabad Town, and Data Ganj Baksh and also made a stop at the Punjab Bank within the E-registration center. Interacting with a citizen from Garhi Shahu who had come for a land transfer, he inquired about the process's simplicity and whether any unofficial payments were demanded. The citizen affirmed that the process was now simplified, and no unauthorized payments were requested.

Successfully transitioned to the E-registration system

The Caretaker CM emphasized that the E-registration center consolidates the land transfer processes for all three towns under one roof, providing relief to citizens of Lahore who will no longer need to make frequent visits. This initiative aims to bring transparency to land transfers and eliminate corruption from the system.Mr. Naqvi acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Senior Member Board of Revenue, Punjab Land Record Authority, and his administrative team. He announced the phased-out completion of manual registrations, with over 221,000 registries already successfully transitioned to the E-registration system.
